A special thanks to Ms. Donna Maye West who dropped her life and horse training business in Alabama for two months to come to Lifesavers ranch in the middle of summer to help us with our wild Fish Creek yearlings. (See the links below for info on the Fish Creek rescue.)
Donna tirelessly gentled more than 30 wild horses during her 8 week stay with us. Many of those previously wild horses have been adopted already and are enjoying new families and a domestic lifestyle.

In the heat of the summer 2003 you brought us a crisp smile and cool sparkling eyes that outshined the brightest days. Your daily cheer and laughter was a gentle breeze that made each burning day more bearable.
You have an amazing talent for teaching wild horses how to be with people, and an equal talent for teaching people how to be with horses. Your selfless dedication to making this world a better place for "ponies" can only be explained as God's calling for you. You are making a difference - your sacrifices will be rewarded, if not in this world, then certainly in the next.
On behalf of myself, our staff and, of course, the horses I wish to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation for the work you have done to prepare our rescued wild horses for their new domestic homes. We have enjoyed your positive energy and magnetic personality. We will be missing you. Until your next visit…
