Lifesavers Wild Horse Rescue brings you its 3rd annual Equine Health and Safety Fair October 25th, 2008 - 10am - 6pm This year the EH&S Fair will be held at Vincent Hill Arena on Sierra Hwy right off the 14 Freeway in Acton, California. Conveniently located right next to the Acton MetroLink station. The last train headed south leaves the Acton station at 6:30 pm on Saturdays. Equine Health and Safety Fair is an educational and entertainment event that offers information on equine related matters to help horse owners become more knowledgeable about horse care and products and in turn help their horses stay healthy and happy. This year we are also celebrating the 14 Freeway corridor and inviting the residents, commuters and business community from the San Fernando Valley to California City and beyond together to share information and interests. This year the Equine Health and Safety Fair is proud to bring you these speakers: Dr. Larry Connelly on Horse Management, Jaime Osbrink on Bio Mechanics of Hooves, Rebecca Nunez on Purina Nutrition, Lee Worshom on Proper Saddle Fit, Patricia Demers on Driving Safety and Maureen Bunn on Disaster Preparedness and the Venomous Snake Research Center. Informational and Vendor booths are still signing up and will include local riding and driving clubs, gifts, authors, health management for horses, barns and corrals, training & schools, wildlife education, etc. Special Attraction: Gypsy Horse Breed Demo and Hackney Breed Demo We will have an open swap meet for used tack and other ranch related items. Table spaces are $20 each. So clean out your tack rooms, tool sheds, barns and antique attics and sign up for a table space. If you are a retail vendor or crafter and have some items that fit our equine or country ranch theme you are welcome to join us with your booth for $20. Equine clubs and associations are welcome. There is no charge for nonprofit booths, but if you sell something at your booth you must make a donation to the raffle. If you are an organization, animal rescue or some other community business along the 14 freeway and would like to have a booth you may contact us and we will most definitely consider you for our event. All tables and booths must be self contained * we cannot offer power or phone. This year we are having a Costume Contest for horses and their owners. The entry fee is only $10 and the winner will split the entry fee pot with Lifesavers. Get your friends and their horses planning a great costume now - Sign up early and we will post an accounting of the growing prize pot.
