these horses are the first of the approx 150 starved horses to be transported out of Fish Creek Ranch, Nevada

June 6, 2003

44 yearlings traveled a long 500 mile trip in a 53 foot big rig horse trailer from Fish Creek, Nevada to Lifesavers in Lancaster.

Many of these young horses are in very poor shape. Some are not too bad. They have been on a full feeding program since Lifesavers became involved in the rescue and they are all doing better now than they were.

On a free feed diet of Bermuda grass hay and Barley, you can see they are quite content to hang out at the community feeders.

All 44 youngsters will be monitered closely for any health problems. In a short time these guys will be available for adoption to approved homes.

Most of these yearlings are bay in color, but a there are several buckskins, sorrels w/flaxen manes & tails, and even one solid paint with a bald face and blue eyes. There are about 10 colts and the rest are fillies.
